Save the Date: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Workshop June 17

Tennessee Tech University is hosting a workshop on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) focusing on increasing access for students with diverse learning needs and styles in the STEM disciplines on June 17, 2011. The workshop is funded through an NSF Research in Disabilities Education Grant (#0726449). The UDL workshop will provide an opportunity for leadership and curriculum development in the following areas: Designing curriculum both at the secondary and  post-secondary levels for all students while focusing on those with diverse learning needs and styles in the STEM disciplines; an understanding of how to support students within the STEM disciplines through assistive technologies and effective instructional practices; and  developing an awareness of the characteristics of students with diverse learning needs and/or styles. We are excited to provide this Universal Design for Learning Workshop at our new Millard Oakley STEM CENTER on Tennessee Tech’s campus. Our speakers are nationally recognized and respected in the field of Universal Design for Learning.
